Windam Plus: Knight Windamby ~Lowehart

The GAT-04P Windam Plus, Aka the "Redfist" is a modified mobile suit constructed directly onto a standard Windam unit . The nickname of Redfist comes from the one red hand, part of the custom color scheme used by its pilot, Captain S'Jet. The Windam Plus was loaded with specialist equipment to aid the Redfist's love for combat - The GAT-04 Windam was already light, and highly maneuverable - and with two rocket anchors, two beam sabers, AND the ability to mount a high mobility flight unit, it was the perfect base.
However, the unit was lacking in some areas.
The GAT-04P Windam Plus had a new head created for it, with a larger array of scanners and sensors, so that it could pick out and assess the battle much easier. It also mounts a target desegnator on the torso's left, and to make up for the lack of a CIWS on the replacement head, the other side of the body mounted a single M2M5 "Todesschrecken" 12.5mm pod. The torso itself remains largely the same, with the exceptions of these weapons on a flatter plate, and the change of the chest vents to better allow high speed maneuvers and system cooling.
The arms are the unit's real feature. The red part acts as an anti-beam coated shield, attatched to the lower part of the arm. The lower part of the arm is infact double-jointed. This allows the unit to not only use a special "cleave" attack to surprise and disarm enemy mobile suits, but also to use beam sabers as makeshift beam shields. This double ability makes the Windam Plus a formidible unit in close combat, but it is very lacking in any form of ranged combat, meaning the unit must at all times be accompanied by an escort until a combat opportunity arrives.
It is this love of close combat, and the unit's ability to perform so well with a sword that lead to the unit being known as "Knight Windam", while it's official desegnation remained GAT-04P Windam Plus.

This has to be one of the BEST mobile suits you have done to date. Excelent job on the art! Was reading through the specs, and it sounds like my kind of mobile suit ^^ I love melee fighting... beam sabers all around!!

Note: The mobile suit's right hand should be more proportionate to the rest of the suit itself. It looks to small.

Well, doing re-designs like that is easy. You got the original lineart to work from.
Doing original mecha is far harder, and mine end up looking like shit.
